Cycle Optimization can reorganize the WM6700HBA cycle list based on use. Cycle List Edit controls which cycles are included. A moved cycle and an excluded cycle require different checks; neither by itself proves a control failure.
Models covered
WM6700HBA dial/display model; Settings and Additional Settings in its exact-family manual. This does not describe fixed printed-dial LG washers.
Wait for motion to stop and the door or lid to unlock. Water may be hot. Isolate power and follow the exact manual before any user filter maintenance. Never open a filter against a full drum, force a lock or bypass an interlock.
Compare the behavior
Match the documented control, cycle or feature before interpreting the result. The comparison below keeps normal model behavior separate from an unresolved fault.
| Observed state | Interpretation / next step |
|---|---|
| Cycle is present at a new position | Review Cycle Optimization. |
| Optional cycle absent | Review its Cycle List Edit check mark. |
| Normal or Tub Clean missing | Not explained by the documented exclusion setting; seek support. |
Model-specific checks
Moved is different from missing
Scroll through the whole list before deciding that a cycle vanished. If it is present at another position, inspect Cycle Optimization. If it is absent, inspect Cycle List Edit. Photograph the current list if another household member also uses the washer so changes can be discussed accurately.
Inspect the inclusion check marks
In Cycle List Edit, select the desired cycle with the knob and OK. A check mark indicates inclusion; an unchecked item is excluded. Save using the Previous control as the manual directs. Normal and Tub Clean cannot be deleted, so their absence is not explained by ordinary list editing.
Stabilize the order you want
Cycle Optimization is on by default in the cited manual. Turning it off retains the current list order; it is not described as a factory-order restoration. The manual also identifies Product Cycle Management in ThinQ for list management. Avoid a factory reset just to solve a list preference.
What to record next
This is a user-interface problem with two independent axes: membership and ordering. Naming those axes gives a faster route than a generic “reset your washer” answer.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
