WTW8127LW Load & Go: Switch to a Single Detergent Dose

Fixlume editorialSource check: October 16, 2026Whirlpool · washers
The short answer

Choose the Load & Go dispensing option deliberately before adding a single detergent dose. The WTW8127LW reference sheet distinguishes a one-cycle disable from turning the feature off persistently.

Models covered

WTW8127LW mapped to W11436602C. Do not borrow the separate single-dose drawer instructions for front-load machines.

Before you begin
Wait for motion to stop and the door or lid to unlock. Water may be hot. Isolate power and follow the exact manual before any user filter maintenance. Never open a filter against a full drum, force a lock or bypass an interlock.

Compare the behavior

Match the documented control, cycle or feature before interpreting the result. The comparison below keeps normal model behavior separate from an unresolved fault.

Model-specific checks

Check the selected dispensing state

Touch Load & Go to review its options on this console. The reference sheet identifies On, Off One Cycle and Off Always. If you only want a different detergent for one load, the temporary state and persistent state have different consequences on the following load.

Avoid two doses

Before adding detergent manually, verify bulk dispensing is disabled as intended. Use a measured dose of suitable HE detergent, following the exact guide and product label. Do not fill the liquid bulk tank with powder, a detergent packet or fabric softener.

Return to the bulk system intentionally

After a temporary override, check the dispensing state on the next load rather than assuming the tank remains disabled. If the reservoir stays full and clothing is not being washed properly, first confirm Load & Go is enabled; a full tank is not proof the dispenser has been commanded to work.

What to record next

This is a settings problem with consequences across loads. The next-cycle check is the key difference between a deliberate one-off detergent choice and an apparent dispenser failure later. Front-load advice about a top-left drawer does not identify the right path on this top-loader.

When to stop and get help

Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
