MEDB835DW supports a saved Sensor Cycle dryness adjustment from standby. Hold Dry Level for six seconds, choose the documented setting, then touch Start to save. This affects subsequent Sensor Cycles, not just one load.
Models covered
MEDB835DW Use & Care guide with Dry Level control and saved 0–4 adjustment. Do not use this sequence on a dryer with different controls.
Stop for smoke, burning smells, abnormal heat or repeated breaker trips. Let the dryer cool before cleaning. Do not expose wiring, bypass interlocks or work on gas components. If gas is smelled, leave and call the utility or emergency services from a safe location.
Compare the behavior
Match the documented control, cycle or feature before interpreting the result. The comparison below keeps normal model behavior separate from an unresolved fault.
| Observed state | Interpretation / next step |
|---|---|
| 2 | Factory baseline. |
| 3 or 4 | Saved preference for drier results. |
| 0 or 1 | Saved preference for wetter results. |
| Running or paused | Not the documented adjustment state. |
Model-specific checks
Decide whether a saved change is justified
The manual presents this adjustment for loads that are consistently too damp or too dry across Sensor Cycles. A single thick seam, a tiny load or a blocked exhaust is not a reason to extend every future cycle. Correct loading and airflow problems before changing a global preference.
Enter from standby
The dryer must be off in standby, rather than running or paused. Hold Dry Level for six seconds. Use Dry Level to choose the displayed value: 2 is the factory baseline; 3 or 4 asks for more drying, while 0 or 1 asks for less. Touch Start to retain the selected value.
Make the result interpretable
Note the original value and change only one setting before comparing suitable loads. If a modest preference change improves otherwise normal Sensor Cycles, keep that record. If drying remains poor, restore the baseline for diagnosis instead of masking the symptom with progressively longer drying.
What to record next
A saved preference is not a sensor repair. Distinguishing this from the ordinary per-load Dry Level selection makes both the procedure and its consequences clear.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
