Stop for smoke, burning smells, abnormal heat or repeated breaker trips. Let the dryer cool before cleaning. Do not expose wiring, bypass interlocks or work on gas components. If gas is smelled, leave and call the utility or emergency services from a safe location.

Model-specific checks
Restore the list without clearing everything
While the dryer is not operating, tap Options, select My Cycles with the navigation dial and confirm with OK. Browse to the missing cycle and use OK to add it. Changes save automatically; exit with Options or Back.
Know the Normal exception
The manual says Normal cannot be removed. If Normal alone is visible, inspect the personal list before assuming that the rotary selector has failed. If the missing name is absent even inside My Cycles, compare the full model’s cycle chart; customization cannot add a cycle the appliance does not support.
Keep a record of the original symptom
Write down the missing name and whether it is missing from the cycle ring or from the edit list as well. These are different observations. A factory reset erases preferences and makes that distinction harder to reproduce, so it is a poor first response to one hidden selection.
What to record next
An editable display list and a failed selector can look similar from the main screen. Opening the edit list tests that distinction without dismantling the control or erasing all preferences.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
