FC/FE are supply-frequency codes in Samsung’s US dryer guide. They are not a diagnosis of lint blockage, a bad heater or a specific control board.
Samsung US FC/FE/1 FC dryer family. Use the exact model’s information-code table; exclude combination washer-dryers unless their manual agrees.
Stop for smoke, burning smells, abnormal heat or repeated breaker trips. Let the dryer cool before cleaning. Do not expose wiring, bypass interlocks or work on gas components. If gas is smelled, leave and call the utility or emergency services from a safe location.
Trace the supply and the reported state
A frequency warning reports a detected supply condition, not a confirmed failed part. Keep the full code and model information for qualified assessment rather than ordering a component from the code alone.
| Observed state | Interpretation / next step |
|---|---|
| FC or FE repeats | Arrange qualified diagnosis. |
| Different power code appears | Use that code’s documented route. |
| Code cleared after restart | Record recurrence rather than replacing parts preemptively. |
Code-specific checks
Do not merge frequency with voltage
Frequency and voltage are different electrical characteristics. Record the actual displayed code instead of asking for a generic power fix. A normal-looking outlet or working drum does not measure either characteristic.
Follow the limited owner response
Samsung directs a cycle restart and service if the code remains. If the appliance was imported or the power arrangement recently changed, include that information when arranging qualified help. Do not alter a plug, use an adapter or open electrical connections as an experiment.
Resist the parts-list shortcut
An online error page may list several possible components. That list does not tell you which one failed on this appliance. A professional can decide whether the supply or appliance needs investigation; the owner’s useful contribution is the exact code and when it appears.
If the warning returns
Restart the cycle once as documented
Persistent or recurring FC/FE requires service.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
