Wait for motion to stop and the door or lid to unlock. Water may be hot. Isolate power and follow the exact manual before any user filter maintenance. Never open a filter against a full drum, force a lock or bypass an interlock.
Compare the behavior
During a documented software download, keep power available as instructed and allow the update to finish. Temporarily inactive controls are not a reason to keep interrupting it with resets.

Code-specific checks
Time the download
Record when dn first appeared and whether power and Wi-Fi stayed available. A controls-frozen symptom during this state has a different meaning from a dead panel in an ordinary wash. Do not repeatedly press buttons trying to cancel an update.
Keep power available
Samsung describes approximately 15 minutes for an update. Its escalation threshold is more than 30 minutes with continuous power and no connection issue. Check those conditions before calling it a failed update; a timed observation is more useful than a series of interrupted attempts.
Update status is not recall proof
An update display does not prove a recall remedy is complete. If your model is recalled, check the official installed-version procedure separately after the update. Do not run another wash simply because dn disappeared.
If the warning returns
Keep the update powered; use Samsung’s documented time-and-connection threshold for escalation.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks.
