Anti Static is available only with NORMAL, HEAVY DUTY, PERM PRESS, DELICATES and TIME DRY in this manual. The option introduces steam late in the cycle; it is separate from the Damp Dry endpoint.
Models covered
DV7500K manufacturer manual, DV45K6500 control-panel descriptions. This is a settings comparison, not a new general damp-load troubleshooting page.
Stop for smoke, burning smells, abnormal heat or repeated breaker trips. Let the dryer cool before cleaning. Do not expose wiring, bypass interlocks or work on gas components. If gas is smelled, leave and call the utility or emergency services from a safe location.
Compare the behavior
Match the documented control, cycle or feature before interpreting the result. The comparison below keeps normal model behavior separate from an unresolved fault.
| Observed state | Interpretation / next step |
|---|---|
| Cycle outside the documented list | Anti Static is unavailable by design. |
| Compatible cycle but no immediate effect | The documented steam addition occurs later. |
| Damp Dry selected | This is a separate partial-dry endpoint. |
Model-specific checks
Check the permitted cycle list
Compare the chosen cycle with the manual’s explicit list: NORMAL, HEAVY DUTY, PERM PRESS, DELICATES and TIME DRY. An unavailable Anti Static selection on another cycle is not a valid test of the button. The option adds steam later in the cycle, so the absence of an immediate visible change is also not a reliable failure test.
Match the garment goal
If items must be completely dry for storage, an intentionally partial-dry endpoint is the wrong comparison. If you plan to hang or iron them, retained moisture may be useful. Follow garment care labels rather than increasing temperature solely to cancel an option.
Separate selection from performance
Try the documented appropriate dryness choice for the fabric before diagnosing the control. If a suitable selection still leaves the whole load unexpectedly wet, continue in the broader drying-performance guide. If only mixed heavy pieces remain damp, sorting and load composition are more useful observations than repeatedly toggling Anti Static.
Interpret the comparison
The exact model’s controls let you ask a better question: was a partial-dry endpoint selected, or did the machine fail to reach the chosen endpoint?
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
