SUD is an oversudsing indication, not a direct instruction to replace a sensor. A lack of visible foam through the door does not by itself identify the cause.
Samsung washers whose own manual identifies the displayed code with the meaning below. Codes can differ by generation; this is not a universal parts diagnosis.
Wait for motion to stop and the door or lid to unlock. Water may be hot. Isolate power and follow the exact manual before any user filter maintenance. Never open a filter against a full drum, force a lock or bypass an interlock.
Compare the behavior
Foam visibility is only one observation. Whether the program resumes, what detergent entered and whether another error appears provide a more useful account than a photograph of a clear drum alone.

Code-specific checks
Observe pause or non-completion
Samsung describes a pause that allows suds to settle and automatic continuation. Observe whether the cycle resumes or remains stopped; that distinction matters more than whether bubbles are visible in one snapshot. Do not add another detergent dose to restart the wash.
Audit the actual detergent input
Confirm HE detergent and the actual quantity used, including any automatic dose plus manual addition. If the model manual prescribes rinse or empty-cycle maintenance, follow it without combining household chemicals. Do not use dishwashing detergent or a homemade defoamer as an experiment.
Keep a separate drain code
A separate 5C/SC, retained water or repeated non-completion belongs in the drain investigation as well. Do not translate every non-completing SUD cycle into a failed drain pump. Preserve both messages and their order for service.
If the warning returns
Observe automatic recovery; investigate persistent non-completion and any separate drain code.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
