WF45R6100AW Delay End: Why the Wash Does Not Start Immediately

Fixlume editorialSource check: October 16, 2026Samsung · washers
The short answer

Delay End schedules completion, rather than a delay before starting of the same length. The washer can wait before beginning so the selected wash ends later.

WF45R6100AW/US; match the complete model suffix and the cited manual/control panel before following a sequence.

Before you begin
Wait for motion to stop and the door or lid to unlock. Water may be hot. Isolate power and follow the exact manual before any user filter maintenance. Never open a filter against a full drum, force a lock or bypass an interlock.

Compare the behavior

Match the documented control, cycle or feature before interpreting the result. The comparison below keeps normal model behavior separate from an unresolved fault.

Model-specific checks

Read the label literally

The chosen interval refers to when washing should finish. A long quiet period after Start therefore needs to be interpreted alongside the delay setting. Do not diagnose a start failure solely because no water enters immediately after a delayed program is armed.

Compare two controlled selections

Check the Delay End indication. For an unwanted delay the model manual says to cancel by restarting with Power, then select the intended cycle again. Compare an ordinary immediate cycle with the delayed selection, using the same load and settings. A cycle that also fails without delay needs separate troubleshooting.

Keep the observation specific

Record the selected completion interval and actual cycle behavior. Estimated cycle duration can change, so do not promise minute-perfect completion. This setting does not resolve drain errors, a locked-control state or an interrupted water supply. Avoid repeated power cycling once an actual fault is displayed.

What to record next

A completion scheduler is easily mistaken for a start timer. Comparing with delay removed isolates that misunderstanding without changing unrelated settings.

When to stop and get help

Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
