For the cited model, hold Options for three seconds, select Calibration with the Navigation dial and confirm with OK. Empty the drum and close the door first.
Models covered
WF50A8800AV/US; match the complete model suffix and the cited manual/control panel before following a sequence.
Wait for motion to stop and the door or lid to unlock. Water may be hot. Isolate power and follow the exact manual before any user filter maintenance. Never open a filter against a full drum, force a lock or bypass an interlock.
Prerequisites and results are different
Match the model and panel before entering a test. Record the actual result; entering test mode is not a passing result.
| Observed state | Interpretation / next step |
|---|---|
| Ordinary Options list appears | Use the sustained hold for System Functions. |
| Door not properly closed | Calibration will not start. |
| Calibration complete, then power-off | Documented completion behavior. |
Test sequence for the matched panel
Use this interface rather than a generic button pair
Older Temp./Delay End combinations do not describe every Samsung panel. A short tap opens ordinary options; holding Options opens System Functions on this model. If the actual control labeling differs, stop and match the manual rather than trying increasingly long random holds.
Prepare a valid calibration
Remove all clothing, including small items left against the drum. Close the door and follow the onscreen start instruction. The manual describes about three minutes of alternating rotation and a completion message followed by automatic power-off. Do not add laundry during the operation.
Interpret the result narrowly
Completion confirms that the documented calibration routine ended; it is not a report that bearings, suspension, drain flow and electrical components all passed inspection. If the normal wash still shows an error, use that error as the next branch. Violent movement, water leakage or inability to complete calibration calls for service rather than repeated empty tests.
What to record next
Use the documented calibration menu with an empty drum and check the stated completion result. Calibration is not a universal reset or a substitute for repairing an unresolved fault.
When to stop and get help
Only carry out maintenance permitted in your model’s manual. For service, note the full model number and suffix, displayed code, selected cycle and what happened during the checks. Leave internal wiring, gas components, pumps and safety devices to a qualified professional. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.
